Crossgates Primary School

Outdoor Learning

Our school is situated on the edge of some beautiful countryside, we have a vast amount of outdoor space that wraps around our school.  The benefits of outdoor learning in primary schools are plentiful; alongside increased opportunities for physical activity, outdoor learning supports the development of gross motor skills through having the space to jump, run, climb and even just walk. It also allows for Vitamin D exposure through being in daylight, which helps sustain healthy bones, teeth and muscles, as well as improves mood and reduces stress and depression symptoms.
